Integrating Judge.me with Shopify Lite
Integrating Judge.me with Shopify Lite
Updated over a week ago

Integrating Judge.me with your Shopify Lite store allows you to harness the potential of this plan, which provides Shopify's standard features but focuses on embedding a Buy Button on your personal website or blog. In this guide, we'll walk you through the essential steps to ensure that Judge.me integrates with your Shopify Lite store.

Given that the Shopify Lite plan doesn't include an online store with Shopify-hosted product pages, you may wonder how Judge.me will function in this context. Your products will still be synchronized with Judge.me, but they will appear as out-of-store products since we cannot detect the presence of Shopify product pages.

Note: Certain features are exclusively available on Judge.me's Awesome plan

Collecting reviews using review request emails

However, there's no need to worry. Judge.me can still send out review request emails for you, leveraging the available order information and customers' emails.

When customers submit reviews via these review request emails, they will be redirected to the Review Widget on Shopify product pages. Nevertheless, as the Shopify Lite plan lacks Shopify-hosted product pages, here are two methods to collect reviews via review request emails:

Enable the backup page path for out-of-store products (preferred)

When customers submit a review through the review request email, they will be redirected to the default review form on the Judge.me website.

  • If they submit a review via a Single Review Email Template, they can complete the review directly within the email. After clicking "Submit Verified Review," the default review form will open, allowing them to make updates, such as adding review photos and videos.

  • For those using the Multi Review Email Template, clicking "Review Now" will open the default review form, enabling them to submit their review. This process remains the same for custom HTML templates, where {{ product_url }} redirects to the profile page, facilitating review creation and updates.

Enter your backup page URL

Alternatively, you can specify your backup page URL. This is where your customers will be redirected to submit their reviews. If you are on our Awesome plan, we recommend using the Reviews Page installed using the Platform-independent Review Widget as your backup page. Otherwise, you can employ other pages, such as your non-Shopify product pages, as long as the Review Widget is installed on that backup page using the Platform-independent Review Widget.

Displaying reviews with Judge.me widgets

To showcase your reviews, you can replicate Judge.me widgets on your external pages through our Platform-independent Review Widgets feature. This not only allows you to display your reviews but also helps you gather more web reviews, which you can manage through the reviews dashboard.

However, please note that due to Shopify Lite's limitations compared to standard Shopify plans, you won't have access to our full set of features on Judge.me unless you upgrade to the Basic Shopify plan or higher.

In particular, because Shopify Lite lacks Shopify-hosted product pages, your products will appear as "out-of-store." To display your reviews and collect reviews via automatic review requests, you must take the following actions:

  • Install the Judge.me Review Widget on your non-Shopify product pages using the Platform-independent Review Widgets feature.

  • Either enable the backup page path for out-of-store products and leave it blank or prepare a backup page with the Platform-independent Review Widgets installed. We will redirect customers who receive your review request emails to this page.

By following these steps, you can integrate Judge.me with your Shopify Lite store, making the most of its features and capabilities.
