How to enable multiple language emails

  • From your Judge.me admin, go to Collect Reviews > Emails

  • Scroll down to Multilanguage emails.

For other platforms

To activate this feature, follow these steps:

  1. Access the Judge.me Admin Dashboard.

  2. Go to Settings > Review Requests > Multiple Language Emails.

  3. Note that Multiple Language Emails are applicable to new orders placed after enabling this feature.

How to use multiple language emails

Step 1: Set up your multi-language stores

Before implementing Multiple Language Emails, ensure that your online store supports multiple languages. To do this, your online store must meet the following criteria:

  • You must have a third-party language translation app installed.

  • Your theme should be compatible with selling in multiple languages (all free Shopify themes are compatible).

Begin by adding new languages to your Shopify store:

  • Go to your Shopify Admin and access Settings > Store Languages.

  • Click on "Add language" and select the language from the dropdown menu.

  • Visit the Shopify App Store (apps.shopify.com) and install a translation app (apps.shopify.com/collections/apps-for-store-languages).

  • Follow the app's instructions to translate and publish your store's content in multiple languages.

Step 2: Create custom email templates

Next, go to your Email Templates dashboard (Judge.me Admin Dashboard > Request tab > Email Templates) and follow these steps:

  • Create a Custom Template for each of your shop's supported languages, as configured earlier in the Shopify Admin. For example, if your shop is available in English, French, and Spanish, create three Custom Templates in these languages.

  • In Template Settings, assign the appropriate Email Language to each Custom Template.

  • Create a template to be used for Any Language (in case Shopify cannot detect the customer's language).

  • Activate all the Custom Templates you have created by clicking on them (templates for specific languages and templates for any language).

For other platforms

In your Judge.me admin go to Email Templates > Select New Email Template.

Judge.me will use the locale passed to the checkout to match the email template's language with the customer's language. For instance, if your customers make purchases in your French store, they will receive French emails.

In cases where Shopify cannot identify the customers' languages, they will receive Any Language emails. Only active Email Templates will be used.

For more information about locale and its role in Multiple Language Emails, refer to our detailed guide.
