How do we rank products in search?
When you perform a search, we will apply Default sorting preference which takes into account following factors:
Relevance of search results based on text match of your search term and product information.
Number of published reviews of products.
Reviews transparency metric that shows how many (percentage) of total verified product reviews the store has published.
Reviews authenticity metric that shows how many (percentage) of all published product reviews are verified by Judge.me.
To conclude, the most important parameter in the search algorithm is relevance score based on text match, but higher number of reviews, higher reviews transparency and authenticity scores will benefit for a product to be ranked higher.
Note, stores can’t affect sorting rules and can’t pay for any promotion to be ranked higher.
What are other sorting options for product search?
You can change sorting preference in search by choosing from one of the following options:
Most reviews first: we will take into account relevance score for search results and will apply strict sorting to show you products with the highest number of published reviews first.
Newest: we will take into account relevance score, date when product was added, reviews transparency and authenticity scores.
Best selling: we will take into account relevance score, number of orders associated with this product, reviews transparency and authenticity scores.
Low price first/High price first: we will take into account relevance score for search results and will apply strict sorting to show you products with the lowest/highest price first.
Note, stores can’t affect sorting rules and can’t pay for any promotion to be ranked higher.
How do we rank products on product category pages?
When you visit one of the product category pages by default products are sorted with preference Most reviews first, which means that products with the highest number of published reviews are always displayed first.

How do we rank reviews on Product and Store pages?
By default reviews are sorted by preference Pictures first which means that:
Firstly, we check what reviews has an image attached to show you reviews with images first;
Secondly, we sort reviews by date when they were written to show you the most recent reviews first.
Note, stores have an option to pin specific reviews on the top. You will see such reviews marked with the Pin icon. Stores can’t change or affect sorting rules in any other way.
What are other sorting options for reviews on Product and Store pages?
You can change reviews sorting preference and choose one of the options:
Video first: firstly, we check what reviews have an image attached and secondly we sort reviews by date when they were written.
Most recent: sorting is done strictly by the date when reviews were written.
Highest rating/Lowest rating: firstly, we check what reviews have the highest/lowest rating and secondly we sort reviews by date when they were written.
Most helpful: firstly, we check what reviews have received the most “Thumbs up” reactions and secondly we sort reviews by date when they were written.
